Greenville Financial Services Company Acquires Cooper Insurance Agency

Cooper Chapman Insurance, LLC to Remain in Travelers Rest; Poised for Growth

Greenville-based financial services company SouthEastern Evaluation has acquired Cooper Insurance, an independent property and casualty insurance firm based in Travelers Rest, S.C. The company has been rebranded as Cooper Chapman Insurance, LLC, and will continue to operate from its office on Center Street.

According to SouthEastern Evaluation president Mark Chapman, the acquisition comes at an especially good time, with the growth of Travelers Rest and the northern portion of Greenville County and the recent retirement of Mays Cooper, who founded Cooper Insurance in 1999. Mays’ roots in insurance go back to 1967, and he served the Travelers Rest community with integrity and a tremendous work ethic. The business enjoys a sterling reputation today based on his professionalism.

Chapman sees great opportunities for the new company, using sophisticated technology platforms to streamline business operations and provide an even higher level of service to clients. He confirmed that the core customer service team are an essential part of the company’s loyal following and will remain an important part of the new organization going forward. Chapman, himself, will take an active role in business development, as well as day-to-day management of the firm.

Cooper Chapman Insurance will continue to offer an extensive line of premier insurance products to families and businesses throughout Greenville County. “The essence of this business has always been about building lasting relationships by providing competitively priced options and personal engagement with every customer,” said Chapman. “Mays Cooper lived those values every day, and that continues to guide our business.”
